Diary

Day 1
Wednesday, 22nd January:

The bus trip was very boring, so we were happy when we arrived at the Hebelhof youth hostel. The rooms were big and friendly. Many rooms had their own bathrooms. The trip was long, so we were happy when we could go up to our rooms and put our clothes into the cupboards. When we were finished with this we adjusted the skis. Then we went out and made a snowball fight. All of us took part in it except the pupils who were ill; they stayed inside and slept.

Day 2
Thursday, 23rd January:

We woke up at 7 o’clock and had breakfast at 8 o’clock. Then we went to Grafenmatt and started to learn how to ski, because most of us did it for the first time. At 12 o’clock we went to lunch and it was great. In the break we tidied up our rooms.At 2pm some of us went to the anchorlift. When we got back to the youth hostel, we were worn out. Between half past five and 6 pm we went to dinner. After dinner we went to the communal room and played games. At 10pm we had to go to bed.

Day 3
Friday, 24th January:

During the day we did the same as every day, but in the evening we didn’t go to the communal room, because we went to the youth hostel’s gym.

Day 4
Saturday, 25th January:

On Saturday we walked to the chairlift. This was very funny, but it was very crowdy there.

Day 5
Sunday, 26th January:

We couldn’t ski in the afternoon, because it was too full, so we went tobogganing. It was very funny.

Day 6
Monday, 27th January:

We went to the Grafenmatt. All pupils went skiing. This was the day when two of us had to be fetched home because they were so ill.

Day 7
Tuesday, 28th January:

The weather was so bad that we took the train to Freiburg which was very nice. Through Freiburg we walked in little groups. We visited the “Münster”, Freiburg Cathedral. That was wonderful.

Day 8
Wednesday, 29th January:

Back to Walsum. The trip was about 7 hours!

WEATHER:

The weather was very fine every day except Tuesday. It snowed on two days.
